NFL Draft events at Gino’s East

On April 29th our River North location was a blaze with energy and excitement. This was the first NFL Draft to take place in Chicago, and despite the crazy traffic finishing off April and start off May it was definitely a major highlight for Chicago in 2015. To kick off the day of events in Draft Town, Gino’s East River North welcomed NFL network analysts to a media luncheon and showed them what makes Chicago the greatest.
The third floor of our restaurant was buzzing with people enjoying Gino’s deep dish pizzas and our very own craft beer. Our star list guests matched the energy of the room perfectly, and all were ready for photos and interview questions.

The guest list included:

• Mike Mayock – former NFL safety, current game and draft analyst

• Kurt Warner, former NFL quarterback, current part-time TV football analyst and philanthropist

• Charles Davis, former NFL defensive back, current lead analyst for Fox College Football and analyst for NFL Network

• Steve Mariucci, former NFL coach for San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions

• Curtis Conway, former NFL wide receiver, currently radio and television sports analysis and play by play announcer

• Daniel Jeremiah, former college player and scout, current analyst for NFL Network and writer for NFL.com

• Marshall Faulk, former college and NFL running back, currently a NFL analyst and running a charity group to aid under privileged youth

The day rounded out with great pizza, great conversation and a great amount of NFL experience.

Tell us about the new brewery in the Gino’s East River North location – Gino’s Brewing Co.?

Gino’s Brewing Co. resides in the Gino’s East River North location where we are exclusively brewing and pouring our hand crafted ales and lagers. We are currently operating a 10 barrel DME combinations brewhouse. We have 4 primary fermentation vessels, and 5 serving vessels which, in conjunction with some kegging operations, allow us to fluctuate an offering 5-6 different beer styles.

Describe Chicago’s beer scene.

Chicago is seeing an exciting time in its craft beer culture. In reality, Chicago is in it’s infancy when it comes to the boom of new breweries, including our own, that are popping up all over town. It’s really only been within the last 5-10 years or so that the market has really exploded; and that’s relatively short when compared to, say for instance, the west coast where some have been at it for up to 30+ years.

What makes your beer different than some of the other local Chicago beer on the scene?

I have a very traditional approach to brewing. I wish to attempt to replicate staple beer styles to the best of my ability. I feel that many brewers tend to push the envelope with how many odd ball ingredients they can cram into a beer that is 15% ABV. While there is very much a place for that in the American craft market, and I am always interested in an opportunity to taste such creations, it is not how I should be servicing my drinkers. We are but a humble brew pub. I wish for my clientele to sit down and enjoy a few sessionalbe pints, with our legendary Chicago Deep Dish Pizza, instead of having a sip of the latest trend and moving on.

Describe the 4 beers you have brewing right now (and there’s a seasonal rotation)?

Our 4 staple flagships are:

Witte Chicks Dig Me: Belgian Witte
Broken English: English IPA
Great Bam-Gino: Black Rye IPA

Now that things are flowing, what are the plans for your Beer Dinners and Beer Club?

We are currently offering memberships to our Gino’s Brewing Co Beer Club. It is a wonderful program that is a steal of a deal.

With the $20 cost you receive:

-1 Growler with a fill of your favorite Gino’s Brewing Co beer under 8% ABV
-16oz pours for the cost of 10oz pour ( average savings about $2)

Our Beer Dinner are currently offered every other month, our next date being May 19th during Chicago Craft Beer Week. We do a 4-5 course dinner of non-menu items to pair with a 10oz pour of a the apporopirate Gino’s Brewing Co beer.

What are your plans for Chicago Craft Beer Week?

Currently our plans include offering a few of our selected brands at our two other locations in the city. Our Superior St location, and our South Loop location. We will also be doing the beer dinner as mentioned prior.

Chicago Craft Beer Week

Gino’s East River North Beer Dinner

Chicago Craft Beer Week is coming up in mid-May, and to make it a week to remember Gino’s East River North will be teaming up with our friends at Local Option on May 19. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., we’ll be offering a five course food tasting and beer dinner that aims to unite our pizzas (and other select menu items) with great beer.

Come out for a night of food, beer, and conversation at River North’s newest brewpub. Your ticket, priced at $45, includes a five course meal paired with five 10 oz glasses of Gino’s East Brewery and Local Option beer. The beer aficionados are still toiling away choosing the perfect dishes to compliment the selected drinks, but you can expect your meal to include pizza, dessert, and some delicious extras to surprise you!

We have a communal table in our restaurant reserved for first-come, first-serve participants. To welcome the spring season, Gino’s brewmaster Kevin McMahon has come up with the perfect accompaniment to dining alfresco (and inside, too!). He’s has been working on this one since the first day of spring; he could not wait for the perfect taste of spring.
We are pleased to introduce as a limited seasonal item our GPA (Gino’s Pale Ale). This craft beer takes after the Belgians, it has the perfect balance of fruit aromas, a touch of biscuity sweetness paired with Centennial and French Aramis hops round out the spicy characteristics of the blended saison yeast culture. As always, this beer was designed to accompany a great night and give you taste buds a memorable flavor. Since we’ve stopped production of this beer, it’s only available for a limited time.

GPA Flavors

This Belgian Pale Ale is on the rich side in color and is not strongly bitter, highly recommended for someone new to craft beers. Recommended food accompaniments include the Jumbo Chicken Wings, BBQ Brisket Sliders and any of our meaty pizzas. Come into 500 N. LaSalle and try Gino’s East River North’s latest micro brew.

Has your team worked hard all winter? Do Q1 numbers look better than ever? Reward your staff for their hard work and dedication with an office party. Our space can fit parties of 15 up to 300 people. Long story short, we are able to accommodate as many or as few coworkers as you’d like! Try our Gino’s Favorite package, complete with our combination appetizer platters (Gino’s homemade mozzarella sticks, spinach sticks, and calamari). Move on to our family-style salad, served with assorted dressings, garlic breadsticks, and unlimited toppings on your deep dish or thin crust pizzas.

Reunions

Family reunions, class reunions or getting together with a large group of friends is a great excuse to head to Gino’s East on Superior. Located in the heart of downtown Chicago, you and your group would be able to explore the city by day and fuel up on pizza and appetizers at night. Although our party discount does not include alcoholic beverages, we do have unlimited soda, coffee, tea and home baked cookies.

Have a graduate who’s ready to leave the nest? Send them off with a bang. Our deep dish pizza is ideal for large groups of hungry teenagers. Remember that our party rooms can only be reserved for groups of no less than 15 people. We also have valet parking at our Superior location. Try our Mag Mile package if you’d like to feed a crowd. Your party will start out with family style salad served with assorted dressings, and garlic breadsticks. Then your guests will enjoy unlimited toppings on your deep dish or thin crust pizzas accompanied by family style mostaccioli with marinara sauce.
