Gino’s East River North, (at the historic building, 500 N. LaSalle) is famous for its Chicago-style deep dish pizza since 1966, and announces the new Gino’s Brewery Company is now open.
Gino’s East River North is now pouring small batch, house-brewed beers expertly crafted by Brewmaster Kevin McMahon, including a unique Black Rye IPA, English IPA, Belgian Witte, and traditional German Helles. The beers are $6 and $7 for a pint, $4 and $5 for a 10 oz. pour; and a flight with samples of all four is $7.
A Grand Opening celebration is planned in January, and then Gino’s East Brewery will also feature a rotation of seasonal or creatively inspired beers brewed with interesting ingredients. Each beer will be designed to pair with Gino’s East menu items to enhance the dining experience. For carry-out, Gino’s East will offer 64 ounce growlers to go.
Starting this January, Gino’s East Brewery will also proudly collaborate with C.H.A.O.S. Brew Club, an organization of dedicated home brewers, to creatively challenge the brew club to create beers in a certain style that will then be judged by the Gino’s East team. The winning C.H.A.O.S Brew Club member will have the opportunity to collaborate with McMahon on the winning creation, which will be featured on tap at Gino’s East River North.
Gino’s East River North will plan to launch a beer club program, and host exclusive Beer Dinners, highlighting in-house beers paired with menu items.
About Gino’s East Head Brewer Kevin McMahon
Kevin McMahon is an Illinois native who grew up in the rural Chicago suburb of Elburn, IL. The first phase of his career led him to New Orleans where he worked as a commercial diver. After servicing the oil and gas industry for two years in the Gulf of Mexico, he realized diving wasn’t for him, and decided to pursue a true personal passion: a profession dedicated to the artisanship of craft beer. He then attended the two week Concise Course at Chicago’s prestigious Siebel Institute of Chicago. In the ensuing weeks, he landed a brewer position in his backyard, just outside of New Orleans, at Abita Brewing Company in Abita Springs, LA. After Abita, it was time to move on, and Kevin found himself back in Illinois where he worked as a Production Brewer at Two Brothers Brewing Co in Warrenville, IL.The opportunity to work in the intimate, small-scale pub environment has been an aspiration of his since the beginning of his brewing career and he is, “very humbled to be a part of the Gino’s East family.”
