Gino’s Brewing Co.

Gino's Brewing Co. opened in February 2015, and has become a River North staple for the neighborhood and Chicago craft beer fans. With a rotation of house brewed beers on tap, the Gino's Brewing Company has something to offer for every beer lover.

Our brewhouse is located on the first floor of the Gino's East River North, 500 N. LaSalle. This gives us the unique opportunity to have our thoughtfully crafted beers pair with the best deep dish pizza in Chicago. Brewmaster Kevin has hand picked some of his favorite items for our beer pairing menu to help maximize the Gino's experience for our customers.

The first floor space features live music by Matt Keen on Wednesdays, comfortable seats at the bar, and a lounge area with comfortable couches with a view of the brewery itself. When you come in, chances are you will see Kevin at work or walking around the restaurant. Don't be afraid to stop him and say hello. He loves to talk about beer with fellow beer enthusiasts.

Kevin McMahon is an Illinois native who grew up in the rural Chicago suburb of Elburn, IL. After graduating Elgin Community College, he moved to New Orleans to pursue a career as a commercial diver. After servicing the oil and gas industry for two years in the Gulf of Mexico, he realized diving wasn’t for him. He decided to pursue a true personal passion, a profession dedicated to the artisanship of craft beer. He then attended the two-week Concise Course at Chicago’s prestigious Siebel Institute of Technology . In the ensuing weeks, he landed a brewer position in his backyard, just outside of New Orleans, at Abita Brewing Company in Abita Springs, LA. After two and a half years at Abita, it was time to move on and Kevin found himself back in Illinois where he has spent a year at Two Brothers Brewing Co in Warrenville, IL as a Production Brewer. The opportunity to work in an intimate, small-scale pub environment has been an aspiration of his since the beginning of his brewing career and he is, “very humbled to be a part of the Gino’s East family as Brewmaster.”

Last year, Kevin McMahon won four coveted awards at the 2015 U.S. Open Beer Championship, beating out nearly 4,000 submissions, and was only one of two Chicago area breweries to win. Gino’s Brewing Company took home the Gold Medal for Lasalle St. Lager in the Munchner Helles category; the Silver Medal in the Extra Special Bitter category for Broken English; the Bronze Medal for Killarney Connection in the Foreign Stout category; and the Bronze Medal for Gino’s Pale Ale in the Belgian Pale Ale category.
